This video by cult leader Marshall Applewhite convinced 39 members of the Heaven's Gate Cult to commit suicide in 1997. Believing that that the earth would soon be "recycled" they set their souls free to join aliens arriving on the Hale-Bopp comet. Creepy. Via i09.
