It looked to me at the moment he punched her she was reaching at his waistline. It’s a two on one and if these girls are crazy enough to resist arrest I would be worried about one of them reaching for the gun.

So many people complaining about the cop getting too aggressive about jaywalking. It goes both ways people. Why did the women have to start getting in to cops face over a simple jaywalking citation? Also, the guy with the camera, do you think it is a coincidence the he didn’t record the event from the very beginning? He probably forgot to record the parts where the women were running their mouths and causing trouble.

This is ridiculous. Plenty of people have jaywalked before, and it’s not an arrest-worthy offense. And there is NO justification for that level of aggression in this situation. That guy starts out manhandling the girl. He was wrong from the start, and he only made matters worse. Screw him. He should be fired.

They all needed to simma’ down. She shouldn’t be resisting an arrest, anyway. Lesson to be learned: Do not fight with a asshole cop, even if he’s at fault. Just take the sh*t to court. Her girlfriend shouldn’t have butted in to help her resist the arrest from a cop. And the cop should’ve just called for a backup or something. And surely it wasn’t worth the aggressive arrest, especially punching a person in the face, over JAYWALKING. There are far more bigger fish to fry.

I don’t have a problem with his punching however I do have a problem with the way he generally behaved there and his overzealous brutality especially for JAYWALKING

Good for that bitch. What does she expect from the cop, use colorful words to arrest her? If i was that cop I would slam the bitch on the ground. The situation should have been controlled if she was not being stupid by resisting arrest.

i can’t help but to think how differently things could’ve went down if she just brushed it off, and said sorry. then again the cop does take his job a little too serious.

What is the cop supposed to do: use harsh language?  On the flip side, he did do a pretty lame job of controlling the situation.

this seems to go against the general sentiment, but I think the officer needed to arrest both of those people. they were obviously assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. when a cop talks to you or tries to arrest you, don’t effing resist or give him lip. idiots.

well, i was right! this was totally out of line behavior on the cop’s part. yes, the girls were jay walking, and i’m sure they helped exacerbate the situation. but his manhandling of them was wrong. so was the punch (obviously). it was just confirmed on the news that this cop was reassigned and is now on desk duty. there will be civil and possibly criminal charges and he may lose his job.

both chicks deserved what they got.. resisting arrest and assaultive a police officer.. wtf is he meant to do when hes by himself, at least the guys where smart enough to not do anything.
