TV Buzz Beginning in July, The SCI FI channel will become the SYFY channel, and have a new tagline, “Imagine Greater”. The change is being made after 16 years, and the new name is intended to give the cable channel a broader programming appeal.

I love this! Now I know the content on this channel will be accessible to me! And I'm representative of an easily captured demographic of goons who think intentional misspellings make something realer. And use words like realer. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go listen to Ludacris's “Word of Mouf.”
How about the Seance Fiction Channel. Seance, channel, get it?
I don't like it either, but one thing the blurb above fails to mention is that “SyFy” will be a name they can copyright, something they've had difficulty doing with “SciFi” since it's a genre.
What shortsightedness. If they'd gone with “Sai Fai,” they could have secured the “morons who get a random Chinese word tattooed on their shoulder” demographic.
Do you think the Syence Fyction channel will ever bring back The Dresden Files? Because I loved his hockey stick. Also, it kind of looks Welsh. Or old english. Maybe they'll run specials on Chaucer now?
