It's just like the President said a few moments prior to this during his interview with Leno - when asked what's it's like to accept criticism as the President - “It's like being on American Idol, and everyone wants to be Simon Cowell.”  Can't anyone at CNN/Fox News/MSNBC/CBS/etc find something better to do with their time?

How this shows the media is “liberal” is not clear to me. Obama is getting criticized for it—and rightly so—and he had to apologize. He is even being criticized *a lot* (but you'd have to actually read critical news to know that). Sounds about right to me. The only difference I see is that conservatives would apologize just before insisting that no apology was necessary. He was totally wrong and I wish he hadn't said it, but at least I can have some confidence that idea would make sense to him and not be dismissed.

As a Special Olympics Bowling authority (seriously, like 6 or 7 years experience) 129 isn't very impressive. You'd be surprised at how good some athletes can be. They were kicking my ass every week.

I love how the President of the United States of America's poking fun at the disabled is a “gaffe.” If it were Sarah Palin, it would have been labeled exactly what it was: ignorant. (Although I hear she'll be competing this year.)

If this were Bush or a more legitimate conservative (classical liberal), the crazies would be out protesting in the streets, Code Pink hippies would have lit themselves on fire, and there would be so much foaming at the mouth and writhing on the ground from the professional protest brigade. But the biggest Statist to hold high office makes this big gaffe, and the lemmings just yawn? Awesome.
