Um, water boarding is in no way torture—legally or otherwise. Why would Sen Kennedy unsuccessfully try to change the definition of torture a few years ago to include water boarding if it was already legally recognized as torture. Seriously, think before you talk. And using the Body's logic, if we read Miranda rights and offer a phone call to criminals in the U.S., we should be doing the same to enemy combatants during a War? How dense can you be? Also, comparing conventional wars with the barbarians who break every single Geneva convention with their yellow-bellied tactics is pretty juvenile and shallow. Elizabeth kicked ass, and Jesse acts like one.

  • Gawd. There's—what?—like three of you on here fighting your little right-wind insurgency battles, and you just keep getting mowed down. So how long does it actually take for a moron to wake up and realize that he's not the voice of the legitimate minority opposition, but just another loon who's been pushed out to the periphery of society by decent folks, right along with the white supremacists, the homophobes, and the tax-dodging polygamist cult members? The clock is still ticking for you, Bubba.

  • Also, comparing conventional wars with the barbarians who break every single Geneva convention with their yellow-bellied tactics is pretty juvenile and shallow. The Geneva conventions specifically address this. Just because one party (organized, unorganized, or anywhere in between) fails to follow the conventions, this does not permit member nations to break the convention. There is nothing juvenile or shallow about that. In fact I think “I can break the rules 'cause you did first” is the height of juvenile thinking.

  • “Why would Sen Kennedy unsuccessfully try to change the definition of torture a few years ago to include water boarding if it was already legally recognized as torture.” So, by your reasoning, since Republicans have attempted to introduce a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage… that not only means gay marriage is legal, it's actually a long-standing American tradition! So much for those “activist” judges. They were just strict constructionists all along! Good to know, Buzzfeed troll!

  • “Um, water boarding is in no way torture” Except, of course, the U.S. government has convicted people of torture in the past on the basis of the use of waterboarding. Even Bush's Office of Legal Council considered it torture before they decided to initiate a spin war. Of course, we could always test your little theory by bringing prosecutions against the offenders… “And using the Body's logic, if we read Miranda rights and offer a phone call to criminals in the U.S., we should be doing the same to enemy combatants during a War? How dense can you be?” So waterboarding IS torture after all then? Not just another conventional interrogation technique? Got it. For your sake though… it might help not to wildly change your moral standards between sentences. “Also, comparing conventional wars with the barbarians who break every single Geneva convention with their yellow-bellied tactics is pretty juvenile and shallow.”  And since we now employ these tactics ourselves, the conventions will no longer be recognized by any opponent. Yay! Buzzfeed troll needs to stick to posting stupid Freeper videos.

  • I don't think you can be rightfully be pro-Torture and not have experienced it. That just seems right to me. How, just how can she support torture when she has not seen or experienced it.
