Lol—this guy is pretty ignorant. Protecting the vast majority of Americans who do not want their money used to pay for abortions is the very definition of less government intrusion into our lives. Is he just making this up as he goes? Where was he when Obamacare was passed? The government is all over the operating room, the examination room, the insurance decisions, and every other aspect of health-care. What a loon. Right to privacy? Where is that in the Constitution? And what about the rights of the little kid that never hurt anyone. Weiner is heartless. And I wonder why his panties didn't get into a wad over Planned Parenthood covering up “non-forcible” rape if he is so concerned about making sure we include statutory rape in definitions used in legislation. He should look into getting a better speechwriter and research assistant.

  • Oops: made one mistake in my earlier post. The privacy penumbra includes the 3rd Amendment (no forced quartering of soldiers in your house) instead of the 10th.  http://www.aggregat456.com/2006/12/privacy-penumbra.html

  • I have to love this kind of comedy. Abortion “intrusiveness”: watch the Daily Show lately? He was for the Health Care bill: he's not arguing for smaller government, he's arguing that conservatives are hypocrites about it. The right to privacy in the Constitution: Amendments 1 (association), 4 (search and seizure), 5 (self-incrimination), 9 (unenumerated rights), and 10 (Feds limited to what's in the Constitution). Justice Douglas called these the “Penumbra” representing the Constitution's defense of privacy rights. Amendment 9 is particularly important to talk about with witless conservatives: it says that rights not explicitly written in the Constitution cannot thereby be assumed to not exist. I have seen no evidence PP “covers up” rape. Still waiting to see it. Weiner's research is excellent, and he cites sources. You, on the other hand, mention… nobody. It's cool though—I've long since gotten over conservatives being unwilling to prove their shit. I don't blame you: you were probably raised that way.
