it was a bad foot fault call in 09 and it’s a bad call this time too. stosur had no chance of getting the ball back in play anyways. play a let, at the most. williams is right to be pissed. and in her career she’s had more shitty calls go against her (henin, anyone), and taken more racist abuse (hingis, anyone) than anyone else on tour. the williams sisters have been persona non grata in the (overwhelmingly affluent, white — try watching the actual commericals they show during the US open tennis community -mercedes, rolex, etc) from day one.
