Actually, this just makes me amazed at how far we’ve come with technology that our science fiction fantasies are coming true! We are actually well on our way to a lot of these things, even if most of them aren’t cheap enough for mass consumption.
There are already flying cars, as in cars that turn into airplanes.
Hover technology exists, even if it can’t safely support humans yet.
We’re well on our way to the destruction of print media, for better or for worse… and ads have already been pushing the electronic boundaries, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there are holograms soon, since corporations would just love to make it harder for us to ignore their products.
Bionic implants are already becoming more viable with prosthetics technology.
I’ve definitely seen a motorized self-lacing shoe, but they have yet to make it less bulky looking, haha.
Don’t know about self-drying clothes, besides, well, water-proof material, but there is a lot of interesting stuff happening with fabric technology like stuff that can withstand really high temperatures and even soundproof fabric!
I’m not going to go cite all that shit I’ve read over the last few years, so just Google it yourself. :P tl;dr > THE FUTURE IS (ALMOST) HERE!

Back to the Future has very little time to give me Flying Cars, Jaws 5-18, 80s Nostalgia Cafes, Hoverboards, the complete death of print media, self drying clothes, the inside out pants fad, Hologram ads and bionic implants. I demand these things by 2015.
