There's not a single thing Rep. Weiner says here that is not 100% true. The problem I have with his harangue is that he doesn't tell enough of the truth: His angry words should also be aimed at the members of his own party who are just as guilty as Republicans when it comes to obstructing progress, and who have refused to consider tort reform and health care cost control legislation alongside insurance industry regulation. Real pieces to the solution puzzle have been ignored by both sides of the aisle. One example: Maryland has a diverse board that sets prices for medical procedures state-wide on a yearly basis. Everyone involved knows how much “X” or “Y” will cost, and how much they'll get paid, and they know it's the same everywhere—so doctors and hospitals compete on the level of service and their past success rates, while insurance companies don't have to negotiate how much they'll get paid for each procedure—meaning that small insurance companies provide true competition to the big boys in Maryland. They also have an incentive to look for and find the best care for a patient as opposed to the cheapest bill, because they'll be paid the same and the best care will be cheaper in the long run. Why have you never heard about this? Because DC is populated by lots and lots and lots of people who don't have enough integrity to tell the whole truth about what they ate for breakfast, let alone risk re-election to do the right thing for once. And because—let's face it—the Obama administration has been a spectacular failure when it comes to publicizing and explaining anything at all about their reasoning, the legislative process, features of the various proposals, etc. Democrats have so far only addressed one-third of the problem (insurance) and haven't even been able to effectively communicate about that. Meanwhile, the neocon Republicans in Congress are just like the neocon Republicans on BuzzFeed: Willfully ignorant douchebags who wouldn't deign to even piss on a poor person or a member of the working class if they saw one on fire.

EXACTLY the reason American's don't approval of ANYTHING coming out of Washington DC. Regardless of which party you vote for, the name calling and finger pointing is nothing but pure politics and a colossal waste of time and tax dollars…

I'm a supporter of this guy so I get sent emails from him everyday. At the bottom of the emails there's a little logo that says: “Funded by Friends of Weiner”. I lol every time I see it.
