Another Gay Teen Commits Suicide Because Of Bullying

Jamie Hubley, a 15-year old gay teen who was bullied at school, killed himself on Friday. His suicide note was found on Tumblr.

      I thank my parents for finding I was harming myself and taking me to a wonderful psychiatrist for some years. This makes me so sad, that poor kid needed help :(

      Almost eveyone is bullied some way or another. Teenagers are very emotionnal and with reason. It’s quite normal to feel out of place and strange at that time. I remember those days quite well. I’m a happy person now. I was not then. Hormones, changes and life overall can easily become overwhelming.
      The lack of compassion is probably to blame in this wierd suicide trend. But there has to be a better education of the fact that killing yourself is never an option. Life is precious and wonderful, even if sometimes it does not look that way. We have to put enphasis on the positive while keeping realistic. I’m not a parent nor a teacher. I’m not a gay teen either. I don’t know what to do to help, other than say that the world can be amazing.

      The sad part is where he writes how he doesn’t blame his parents and how he loves them, he really just made his parents feel more of the blame right there. The people left standing on this earth are the real victims of suicide I know I lived it.

      I was bullied and beat to shit when I was in elementary school. Day and day out I was picked on for no reason. I never thought in those days to take my life because it was to hard. I had help from some with not just words but actually doing something instead of sitting around and watching me suffer.  I think kids these days are the victims of teachers who don’t do anything to these bullies because they’re scared they will get sued. My father once saw me getting my ass whopped when I was walking home from school and jumped out of the car grabbed the bully by the neck picked his ass up and threw him against the wall. That bully never said anything again to me, or bothered me again.  It’s time for parents,teachers, and even other adults around these bullied kids to stop sitting around and watching these kids go lower and lower in to a deep hole and finally take action.  All the asshole bullies are a egg shell and one crack will drain them. I am happy my father helped me get one bad egg out of the way and to one of my teachers Mr. Katzman who did the same.

      Im starting to worry that there is another trend forming. Outside the bullying (which i am not selling short as a cause of this disasterous trend) im worried that whats pushing these kids over the edge is the belief that they are trying to martyr themselves for the cause of stopping bullying. It is very bizarre to be mentioning ones favorite musical artist in a suicide letter and seems to be linked to a desire to gain the attention of those artists so that they will tribute-ize them like Lady Gaga did…. I hope i’m wrong.
