my argument is that they are talented girls, I couldnt dream of doing half the moves they executed but the costumes are NOT age appropriate. I just think about that show Toddlers in Tiaras and I'm creeped out. Thigh highs are for adults, halloween, and pornstars. Abercrombie got justifiably reemed for selling thongs in their childrens stores for a reason. I'm done.

These girls ARE talented, obviously. But the revealing skin of the halter tops and thigh high stockings are generally meant to seduce men in the entertainment business. Bad thing? Well, it would only encourage these lil' girls that it's OK to wear those at that age, but still young to understand why all of a sudden these pervs and pedos are eye-balling them. It can be a problem waiting to happen.

As I prepare to enter grad school for a doctorate in clinical psychology, I look forward to a lucrative career based on the self-hatred and utter sadness of girls like this and those they will harass as teenagers.

Can this really be sexually suggestive if the girls don't even know what that means? If a little boy or a girl randomly pulls their pants down for fun, we don't call them pervy or whores do we? WE think it's sexual, because if we did it, it would be. But these kids still believe in cooties, let them do what the hell makes them happy! Christ, when I was growing up, my parents would drag me to my sister's dance recitals every single year. All the kids would just stand there like idiots waving to their parents, and then jump around a bit until the song ended. If this is what it takes to get kids interested in dance and become this talented at such a young age, fuck it, go for it! If the first thing you think about when you see these girls dance is how “sexual” they are….well…I'm Chris Hanson…

As the mother of a seven-year-old dancer, I can attest to the fact that those girls are REALLY good! The saddest part is that they had to have worked really hard to learn the routine (that's not something they would pick up in dance class one hour per week) and I'm sure they felt awesome when they left the stage knowing they nailed it! I agree there is some bad judgement on behalf of the choreographer, but the parents would not necessarily know all parts of the routine (most dance classes have a closed door policy except for special occasions because they want the recital to be a surprise). Personally, I do not know everything my children are learning in their classes (I won't find out until June 14th). Additionally, these performances have been for competitions and the fact that they have been winning attests to the fact that the choreographer is giving the judges exactly what they want to see. There are many adults involved in these “inappropriate” decisions, but the girls deserve your applause because they are GOOD!
