    Polaris Ebike Safety

We at Polaris eBikes believe that being safe is the best way to have a good time. June is National Safety month, and we want everyone to start the their summer off right! Nothing can put a bigger damper on the summer months then having to recover from a preventable accident. We truly believe that many accidents can be prevented with a bit of information and planning.

We cannot stress enough the importance of wearing a helmet. We do not want anybody to receive any head injuries while riding the Polaris eBike. While there has been arguments that helmets are uncomfortable, ugly and inconvenient. While these points may be true; they are superficial arguments when it comes to protecting the body and mind.

While it may seem like conventional wisdom how to wear a helmet, there are many times that helmets are worn incorrectly. The first step to properly wearing a helmet is to purchase a helmet that fits your head. The helmet should be flat on the head and never at an angel. Never angle the helmet to where it prevents a full field of vision. Snugly tighten the chin strap to where the helmet is secure when the buckle is fastened. The helmet should never be loose or jostle when riding.

We would also like to touch upon how to use hand signals when riding your bike. It is critical to communicate to cars and other riders when turning left, right, or when about to stop.

When turning left, extend your left arm out fully.

When turning right, extend your right arm out fully. It is also common place to see other cyclists to practice the Uniform Vehicle Code hand signal. This signal is to extend out your left arm while vertically your upper arm is upright. [as shown]

When stopping extend your left arm out while your upper arm is down.

If you follow these safety tips, motorists and fellow cyclists will thank you. It takes a bit of knowledge so we can all safely enjoy the roads. Have a great summer from everyone at Polaris eBikes!
