What Was Your Favorite Song As A Kid?

Let’s define kid as “under 10.”

I know, right? Now tell your friends!
What Was Your Favorite Song As A Kid?
Matthew Perpetua

1. What kind of music did you love when you were a kid?

2. When I was little, I used to belt out the theme music from “Star Wars” at the top of my lungs.

3. When I was just a bit older, I used to ride my bike around in circles while my tape of Genesis’ “Invisible Touch” album blared on a boom box.

4. I also remember playing my parents’ old vinyl on a toy turntable. I loooooved The Beatles, and didn’t even hear their post-“Rubber Soul” stuff until I was a teenager.

5. Were you more into kid’s music?

6. Or stuff from Disney movies?

8. Or just something that was on the radio all the time?

I was obsessed. Also the lady on the cassette cover was my first crush.

I loved “Joy to the World” by Three Dog Night. My aunt/godmother was a teenager/young adult when I was a kid, so she got me into a lot of cool rock ‘n’ roll like Eagles, Peter Frampton, Beatles, Fleetwood Mac. Never really got into “kiddie” music, although I did wear the hell out of the soundtrack to the “Country Bear Jamboree”.

The Sailor Moon theme song!!! P.S.: Can there be like a step by step instruction article on how to post videos on this site?!!! I mean, I’ve been trying since the first day I’ve stumbled onto this site and I can never do it! I’ve been on different computers, tried different web browsers; nothing works!!! Are there different techniques other than what’s offered in the video tag description, or am I just SOOL?

I used to have a little kid record player just like that one. Totally forgot about it until I saw this post - I loved that thing.

I was a huge Elton John fan between the ages of 4 and 10. My favorite song was probably a toss up between Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Bennie And The Jets.

really little: “river of dreams” - billy joel, “born to run” by springsteen. little older: “the way” - fastball. fifth grade is when i heard depeche mode’s “enjoy the silence” and heard the cure for the first time, the rest is history. i’m only 22, but it was the first time being exposed to music other than what was on the radio.
