Original Inspiration for The Joker
This face will haunt you while you sleep. [Editor's Note: Apparently the Joker was based on a German actor named Conrad Veidt - specifically his portrayal of the character Gwynplaine in the film The Man Who Laughs. They didn't need to do too much additional work to make him creepy as hell.]
