Top 10 Korean Dramas 2012-2013

If you haven’t seen these dramas, you better go to or and press play…NOW. Now for those who have never watched kdrama, these plots may sound insane… give it a try. You know spanish novelas be cray cray too!

1. Gu Family Book (2013)

One name: Lee Seung Ki
This guy is just amazing at acting and singing and being a comedian. Like what.
So a mythical creature and a human completely DO IT. And mythical creature knocks her up. Human pregoooo and then realizes she just did it with a beast. OTOKEHHH? She has the baby and he’s half beast half human. This baby is the legendary Lee Seung Ki. Bae Suzy (from Dream High) goes and falls in love with this half beast half human. Amazing dramas and you never expect what happens next.
Face death. drama. revenge. evil. rage. love. tears. laughs. it’s like an emotional roller coaster.

2. I Hear Your Voice (2013)

Amazing. omg. OMG. OH MY GOODNESS. I just finished this drama like last week. And (hyperventilates) it was amazing. It kinda gets draggy towards the end, but I loved it throughout.
This little boy can read minds (and he grows up to be a hotty). He realizes someone is murdering his daddy and it’s all witnessed by these two girls. One of the girls stands up for him at court and this court drama is intense. So like 10 years later or something, they meet again and change each other’s lives as they face the murderer who was put away in jail 10 years ago and was recently released. He promises to protect her…even if it means it costs him his life.
Just watch it if you haven’t already. You won’t regret it.

3. That Winter The Wind Blows (2013)

Tears. Tears. Tears.
This heart wrenching story is about a man who pretends to be his dead best friend in order to get the inheritance from his dead best friends sister…wait for it… WHO IS BLIND. So she can’t see and he needs to pay off debt. He thinks okay, I’ll impersonate my best friend who has been missing from his family for years. He pulls it off and he’s in the house. Although people are skeptical of him, he knows enough about his best friend to pull it off with the help of his other best friend (who are both like in the mob or gangster— running from loan sharks)
He ends up falling in love with his fake sister and everything goes crayyyyyyyyyyyyy!
Again Warning: TEARSSSSS

4. 7th Grade Civil Servant (2013)

I just thought this drama was adorable. It’s about two spies who end up spying on each other and they don’t know the mission and each of them are spies and they fall in love and yaddahyaddah. It’s cute. Not the best, but cute. If it sounds like a drama for you, give it a try!

5. The Moon That Embraces the Sun (2012)

This story was magical. Although it was a historical drama, I truly enjoyed Kim Soo Hyun’s acting. In fact, every one in this drama was an amazing actor/actress. There is so much pain and agony in the drama and you’re hanging from suspense the whole time. It’s a cute love story between a prince and his lover who later becomes a king with a “dead” wife. You never know what wizard out there secretly killed your first love as a command from your mother (but then again, the crazy mother thing shows again)
After looking for a good trailer (and failing miserably…) Im rewatching this drama.
First 30 seconds!

6. Ghost (2012)

This isn’t a horror story… It’s actually about hackers and police and it’s sooooooooooo good. I was skeptical about watching it at first but I got really into in once I started it. You’re on your feet with this murder mystery case as you go through a series of mysteries. The main guy dies and the second guy gets plastic surgery to replace the main guy — it’s crazy.
But definitely worth watching. i’ve seen it multiple times already.
Basically…everything you use can be hacked.

7. To The Beautiful You (2012)

This drama was just adorableeeeee. If you’ve seen Hana Kimi, then you’ve probably already saw this Korean version. It’s about a girl who sneaks into an all boys school after admiring an iconic high jumper. They end up crushing on each other and it’s a very cute and funny drama to watch and pass time.

8. Rooftop Prince (2012)

This time travel drama is a great romantic comedy. This king travels through time with his men and enters the 21st century where he becomes the son of a rich guy. It’s adventurous and takes you on a bitter sweet road as the man searches for his queen who may not be the women he loved centuries ago.

9. I Need Romance (2012)

Trailer for 2011 I Need Romance:

After the 2011 I Need Romance, I was hooked on this series. It kinda reminds you of Sex In The City. The girls are spontaneous and looking for a man to love. They go through realistic problems such as being stuck between your best friend who became a lover and a man who likes you. (You don’t need to watch I Need Romance 2011 to watch 2012. But I advise to watch both— I lovedddd 2011)

10. The King 2 Hearts (2012)

Lee Seung Ki again ladies and gentleman. I loved the main actors in this one. The chemistry was real and funny. This drama shows a romance between North Korea and South Korea. So much happens between the two countries. Can young love fight through boundaries?… literally?
