I was 8 years old, and it was 1984. My best friend's sister took the two of us to see the Jacksons Victory Tour. We had total nosebleed seats, and we were pretty much relegated to watching the giant overhead screens in order to even figure out which little speck on the stage was Michael. When they did the “Sword in the Stone” bit, I realized that I really couldn't see him… I cried like a baby all the way home and afterwards because I couldn't see Michael. The next week my mom took me to the eye doctor and they realized I had severe astigmatism. After getting the first pair of glasses, which resembled the large, red plastic frames Sally Jesse Raphael wore, my swift descent into geekdom began. Thanks, Mike.
