The Michael Phelps Diet
The Olympic swimmer who won his 3rd Gold medal at Beijing claims he eats a 12,000-calorie-a-day diet of pasta and pizza. His message is basically: eat like a pregnant woman, and you’ll win Olympic gold. Next thing we know, he’ll be announcing an endorsement of those weird new pasta dishes they have at Pizza Hut.

This man is a BEAST. i work out every day and still dont burn 1/4 off that many calories. He has the Matabolism of a Buick….

He’s young, extremely active, and so his body is burning calories like wood in a furnace (which it is) and so I can believe he easily eats this +. I personally wish it were healthier like whole grains instead of the enriched refined, and less eggs, but I bet his cholesteral is great nevertheless because he’s so active. I spent part of growing up on a farm, and my male cousins who lived there and were 12 and 14 respectively would easily eat a 1/2 loaf of bread, a 3/4 box of cereal w/milk to cover and sugar, 4 or 5 eggs, and 1/2 roll of fried bologna just for breakfast!

some of the responses here are PATHETIC. He’s not saying everyone should eat this way, and he’s not rubbing it in your face. If you guys trained for 20 minutes as hard as he trains for 5 hours you would have much more respect. He’s not rubbing it in anyones face, HE WAS ASKED. To all you internet lardasses get up and do something and maybe you’d be able to eat a little more too.

Pasta is one of the BEST food items a swimmer can eat before a BIG race. I swear some of the people on this site just type because they like the look of there font. Great Job Phelps! If it wasn’tr for you USA wouldn;t get any medals. Blah.

thiis guy works out 6-8 hours a day! of course he can eat whatever he wants. the people critisizing him are just jealous. if you worked out 6 hrs a day 6 days a week you could eat whatever you want. fat haters!

Yeah is he trying to make all of the rest of us feel bad —- “I can eat whatever I want, I’ve never lifted a weight in my life yet I look like Adonis, I’ve won a zillion gold medals in world record times”…………blah, blah, blah. Sure, he is a legend but is anyone else getting tired of hearing it?
