  • re: Steven Meredith Steven? Honey?

Obama isn't President yet. He hasn't actually DONE anything yet. You have to wait until he's ACTUALLY President before you blame him for things he didn't do, or has no control over. K?

  • A chance? Two days as President Elect and the stock market has the two worst days in the HISTORY of the Dow! Problem is that people who wanted change, voted for the celebrity..yes..the murals of Obama(already up and he has done NOTHING) are reminiscent of Lenin, Stalin, Khadafi, and Hussein. Also, no more affirmative action…over. Kaput.

  • Of course they weep. That too is catharsis.
And it has not escaped my notice that there is hardly a reference to McCain in HuffPost today.
I put this idea out elsewhere a few days ago but I think it is worth repeating here. As people do the necessary washing up after the election, and that includes the inevitable post mortem on the McCain campaign … what do you make of my suggestion here about McCain's underlying motive for chasing the Presidency.  Where McCain's true colours are concerned, my opinion is that he just wanted to go one-up on his dad just like George (W) did with his father. George (H) won the Gulf War but did not push on to take Baghdad. W went to war in Iraq to demolish it, steal the oil and tp grab Saddam Hussein.  In running for President McCain tried to do the same. He just couldn't cut it in the Navy and make Admiral like his Dad and Granddad. He failed to extend the family tradition. So what's a guy to do? Well, he went for POTUS instead; a position which incidentally also makes him CinC, which would have put him a few rungs higher up on the ladder above his ancestors, but by another sneaky route.  Anyone for a game of chess? From ChandraC

  • What future is that, pray tell? One in which the rest of the world doesn't hate us? One in which our average wages don't decrease from year to year? One in which the Constitution is more than just a piece of paper?

  • We were crying because we realize what kind of future our country has in store now. I am proud for Obama because he was able to make history. But otherwise, my loyalty lies with McCain. I do feel so much sympathy for him for the loss of his grandmother during such a stressful time. I'm sure he isn't even able to properly grieve.
