You’re not the only one that’s irked by the way Subway underutilizes their triangular cheese slices.
I used to work at a sandwich shop (local, not Subway/Quiznos) and used to do it the “right” way.
I ate the food there too, so I tried to be considerate of people’s equal dairy distribution needs.
There’s a guy at my local Subway who does it the right way, and when I complimented him on it, he said “Unnecessary Dairy Overlap makes the internet cry.”
Best. Subway. Worker. Ever.
Man! there’s a lot of food peeves on this here thread!
Solution: don’t eat at subway or chipotle.
Support a REAL sub shop or taqueria, specifications to order.

Agree with Miss Cellania
After reading all these comments, I have had an epiphany: Buzzfeed should start its own chain of sub shops!
What’s the deal with the lettuce?! That could have been fodder for a whole Seinfeld episode. Much like sour cream at Chipotle, Subway sandwich jocks can’t understand “just a LITTLE letuce, please.” It’s not possible. There is only one amount of lettuce they can put on there - a giant handful. Years ago this lady in line in front of me got into an argument with the kid behind the counter because she didn’t want that stupid little wedge of bread cut out of the top - she wanted it cut in half normally. He wasn’t having it. “We can’t do that.” She was all, “Nonsense - of course you can! You’re holding the knife, just cut the thing in half evenly.” Things got a little heated. Ultimately he caved and cut it normal, but I swear he put a little bit of an angle on it just to spite her.
Big pet peeve of mine since I’m a picky eater. I just have plain subs, meat+cheese+bread, and when half my bites don’t have one of those in it, it’s irritating.
Personally, my issue with the Subway cheese is that it somehow manages to melt even when the sandwich is stored in the fridge. Grossest cheese ever.
What’s wrong with a little more cheese in one bite and a little less cheese in another? I have more problems with Subway’s squeezing mayo into the middle of their sandwiches (where it causes the ingredients to slip and slide out), and not on the bread. And my biggest pet peeve is Chipotle (and other burrito places) not building and wrapping their burritos well, but just dumping stuff in, causing bites and even entire sections to be all rice, all bean, just sour cream and guac, etc.
