I’ve only been poking around for an hour or so (invite), and so far, I really like it. I love the idea of circles and being able to prohibit certain people from seeing either posts or likes. I can post things just to family and then to friends, or colleagues or not-so-close friends. I can create my own groups of people to share things w/ (so only those I designate as members of my Spinster With Cats group can see).  I’m sure to run into many flaws but I’m smitten.

They better move to get out of beta or it’s gonna be Wave all over again. So much wasted potential with that one. Let’s hope they do better now. I’m a little less concerned about their creepiness than Facebook’s, so far.

I am wary, I mean it would seem like a good idea, but I think google still has that “we defeated yahoo” mentality, even being google “and” better may not be enough to really overshadow facebook at this point. google would have to buy them like they did youtube and/or dismantle it methinks.
