1. What is your favorite thing about being in Grease?

Tommy: Much like Newsies, Grease focuses on each character in the show. They all have their own feature and you really get to know them individually. Being a part of a show like that is really rewarding for an actor.

2. What is the most embarrassing thing to happen to you during a performance?

Tommy: There is this part in Newsies when Spot Conlon walks downstage center and cuts of the audiences applause. Well one day I had a brain fart and instead of cutting them off with my hands I wound up doing what looked like an awkward Elvis impersonation. It was mortifying and I couldn't help but laugh at myself.

3. If you could play any Disney prince, who would it be?

Tommy: That's easy- Aladdin! He was always my favorite. When I was a boy, I would use the couch cushions as a magic carpet and sing "A Whole New World." My mother did not appreciate me jumping around the living room on her cushions.

4. If you could play any role of the opposite gender, who would you play?

Tommy: Mama Rose from Gypsy. The end. Period.

5. What is your favorite part of the Grease rehearsal process so far?

Tommy: I'm loving working with our choreographer Joanne Hunter and our director Daniel Goldstein. They both compliment each other so well. Their take on the material is really bringing Grease to a whole new level. It's gritty, full of teenage angst, and of course a lot of fun- but most importantly it's very real.

6. Do you have any advice for young actors who want to be on Broadway?

Tommy: My advice would be to never give up. I truly believe there is a role for everyone in this business if you're willing to work hard for it. Nobody can tell you that you can't do it but yourself. If your dream is to be on stage, get your butt in class and make it happen.

7. Who would play you in a movie about your life?

Tommy: I'd have to say my Aunt Kathy. She does the best impersonation of me and I don't think any movie star could do a better job! ;)

8. What is your favorite backstage memory?

Tommy: A few of the Newsies and I decided it would be fun to rehearse a scene from Wicked and perform it for the cast. We called the scene WWE (Wicked Witch Of The East) and even created our very red carpet for the "press opening". It was ridiculous and hilarious how seriously we took it.

9. What's your favorite thing about working at Paper Mill Playhouse?

Tommy: I love everyone who works there from Mark, Patrick, management, costumes, the hair department and of course the dressers! Paper Mill is among the most prestigious regional theaters in the country and consistently puts on amazing production after amazing production- while keeping a very positive work environment. Their reputation speaks for itself. Everyone cares about and loves their job and the camaraderie makes it feel like a family.

10. What's your favorite number so far in the show choreography-wise?

Tommy: After only one week, we've choreographed almost every number and I love them all! If I had to pick a favorite I would have to say the opening number "Grease". The dramatic choreography depicts the iconic song and, right off the bat, gives you a sense of this productions style- there's even some fun leather jacket choreography.
