In 1995, at, what...15 (not really a "kid" per se...but you know) I was obsessed with LOTR. I drew the characters left and right, and remembered this the other day while watching "The Hobbit." My Legolas is a little on the short side, and Aragorn has a hat with a feather (Don't know where I got that.) But Gandalf and Gimli? Look at Sting! Looks like PJ went through my stuff. That or Tolkien does a keen job of describing stuff.

The make-up test for was a scene in The Two Towers that Jackson opted not to add in. Similar to when Galadriel revealed what she would look like if the ring came to her, the sequence was of a vision had by Faramir, showing Frodo if he were to give in to the Ring's seductive power.
