Ahh, the time when kids didn’t expect a gift that cost 4 months pay that they would only play with for a week and then expect another amazing gift. Kids today are spoilt rotten and have killed their imaginations. Pity.

I remember for a few Christmas holidays I got tons of Harry Potter stuff. Lego sets, books, book marks, journals, sticker books, sheets, action figures. Everything really.

This is a list for kids with money. Years ‘88 to ‘09 it was socks for the rest of us. “OH COOL! Your mom got you ARGYLE?! Maaan. I’m jealous.”

Exactly my aging timeline, but quickly lost me after age 5. I didn’t even know what fashion plates were.  How about a Skip It or Roller Blades or anything TMNT? Or anything 90210? That’s what I remember about 1990.  And I was certainly wearing Doc Marten boots over platform Mary Janes in 1995. Oh, and 1995 was the year of Jagged Little Pill.  Not even going to comment on the music from 2001.

Technically that ain’t He-Man, it’s Prince Adam, and he’s a wuss. Purple tights? Come on. Any five-year-old hetero boy would be perfectly within his rights to sulk over that obvious gift-giving fuck-up.
