Kate T 11 months agoI’ve had several people tell me that my husband was a cheapskate for buying me an engagement ring that was just under a half carat. Actually, I asked him for a smaller ring (SHOCKER!) because that’s what I felt comfortable wearing. Not to mention, I’d rather put that money towards something for the BOTH of us, like a house, or our future kids’ education. Call me crazy, but I actually find them and the choices they’ve been making (modest home, backyard wedding, non-traditional ring, off-the-rack wedding dress) pretty charming…it strikes me as very down to earth. It’s really nice to see people living modestly and reasonably, despite their wealth.
