Culture Buzz Some guy used a custom level in Super Mario World to propose to his unsuspecting girl, too cute/geeky for words!

I've never heard of it referred to as a “wedding proposal”. “Hey, you wanna have a wedding?”
“Sure. Should we get married, too?”
“Nah, just a wedding.”
Caved to DMCA? You guys suck.
Nicely done!! (and I love yours too, Ian B) That's the kind of elaborate scheme I'd come up with… I hope whoever proposes to me does something equally well-thought-out and personal. My best friend did say that the only thing he wanted for his birthday was for me to come to his party, so I told him “No Way” and then flew 3,000 miles to be there. I had to change in the airport bathroom and go directly to the restaurant from there, with all my luggage. I accosted 2 of his cousins outside and asked them to give him a card I had carefully made with felt and hologram paper - it had a birthday cake on the front and said “Be Careful What You Wish For”. On the inside, I just wrote “look up” so that he opened it and then looked up just as I walked in the door. It was one of the best things I've ever done - it was so exciting to surprise someone like that. We hadn't been in the same room in over 12 years. He's my boyfriend now. {=-)
Look how happy the dog is! Aww.

Good job! I also got engaged in a unique way recently. I asked my girlfriend in a Jumble. (if you don't know what a Jumble is, it's a word puzzle where you unscramble letters to form words. You can find it alongside the comics in the Daily News) Anyway I thought it was a pretty cool way of doing the deed. Here are the details of my plan… I scanned in the Jumble from the paper, and recreated my own customized version. I bought real newspaper (different then newsprint) and with the help of the studio at work printed the front and back of the spread with the jumble on it replacing the original Jumble with my new version. I brought home like five papers on a Friday night since she likes to do the jumble, I told her I saved them for her and we can do them in the morning. That morning after breakfast we went through the papers one by one until we got to the “special” paper which I threw my fake spread into. She was so involved in jumble land from the first 4 papers we did that she took it hook line and sinker.
I took some artistic license and added an “S” in “yous” because I needed an “S” for the final answer which of course was “YES”. It worked out because it threw her off which caused her to fill out the last two words and then look at the bottom line where yesterdays answers usually appear. Instead of yesterdays answers it said “Yes Lauren I am asking you to marry me” . She started crying (happy tears I think:) Then I pulled out a box with the ring in it from the couch where I hid it the night before, and opened it. In front of the real ring was a paper cutout of the diamond ring illustration in the Jumble.
This seems like something that would show up on FML with the girl writing “Today my boyfriend proposed to me through a Super Mario video game.” Haha, its kind of cute though/
SO CUTE. How could a girl not say yes?
