WvBrooke 5 months agoSo when exactly IS the time? Are we waiting for there to be no gun violence before we start talking about it? I agree with Sweetlips, below, that mental health is also an issue that needs attention, but that doesn’t mean this shooter had any mental issues. Believe it or not, even perfectly healthy people can do unfathomable harm

WvBrooke 5 months agoElli, I’m sorry, but Ninja is right. Its hard to admit, and its human nature that we don’t want to believe its possible. Mental health and mental illness are not the same thing. It is all too often the case that someone who is extremely angry or malicious is not ill at all, only does not possess the respect for life that stops this kind of thing. You can treat bipolar, but you can’t treat being a bad human being.

ninjapornstar 5 months agoBullshit. I’ve worked on enough cases where Dad shot Mom and the kids to know that there are LOTS of perfectly sane people who will shoot a child. Even their own.

elli 5 months agoSane people, in any capacity, do not shoot children. At all. Sweetlips is correct — the declining mental health of this country is the issue here, not the guns.
