Bean Beards: Japan's Newest "Fake" Trend?

Don't be mistaken, "bean beards" is not one of Japan's new cutting-edge fashion trends, but a photography project by food themed artist Takao Sakai. The beards are made of red beans called "azuki" and the project is a social commentary on how easily trends come and go, and how foreign media misrepresents Japanese fads.
