4,000 ‘Modern-Day Slaves’ Will Die To Build Qatar’s World Cup Stadium

A new report by the Guardian says that Nepalese migrant workers have been dying at a rate of one a day in construction to prepare for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the richest nation in the world. Laborers have had pay withheld and passports confiscated to prevent them from fleeing the abusive and dangerous workplace conditions.
