"Dragon Ball" Returns To TV With New Series After 18 Years

The new anime series will be called Dragon Ball Super and will be headed up by creator Akira Toriyama.

On Tuesday, Toei Animation announced the return of Dragon Ball with a brand-new anime called Dragon Ball Super.

The story for the new series will be a direct sequel to Dragon Ball Z, and will take place after the events of the Majin Buu saga.

According to Fuji TV producer Osamu Nozaki, series creator Akira Toriyama is writing the story. The new anime will not acknowledge the events of Dragon Ball GT.

Masako Nozawa, the original Japanese voice of Goku, Son Gohan, and Son Goten, will be reprising her roles.
