It seems like American sarcasm and British sarcasm are now on very similar wavelengths. I think it may be because of BBC America. This trans-Atlantic sarcasm train is good.
Add to that the fact that e-readers have direct access to dictionaries built in. Now the words I knew through context alone can become the words I actually know the literal meanings of.
