Finally! 3D Table PONG

This looks like so much fun! Released originally by Atari in 1972, PONG was one of the first arcade/video games ever! (Note the amazing Revenge of the Nerds reference 1:18 in.) Read more here.

  • They should rework it so that it has a small tilt mechanism (if the ball gets past the center, it will tilt down and accelerate to the other side instead of coming to a stop and requiring a push). The knob mechanism they're using is also way too slow (needs a different gear ratio so it's not so slow?). It also appears that the slots the paddles travel in don't even go all the way to the edge . Needless to say, lots of room for improvement. A+ for effort, though! I'd definitely have fun playing with it.

  • PONG was the first commercially successful video game. It was not the one of the first video games; Tennis For Two debuted to the public in 1958. It was not one of the the first arcade games, either; pinball has been around since the late 1800's. Hell, the first home console system, the Magnavox Odyssey, was available nationwide before the first PONG cabinet was even installed. Even then, PONG was a ripoff of work Ralph Baer had demonstrated years earlier, and a judge later agreed, forcing Atari to pay Baer millions.
