Urgent cares are not always staffed with a doctor. I’m sorry you weren’t treated appropriately the first time around but please for your own safety always make sure you’re being seen by a physician (MD/DO)
Tendonitis is a clinical diagnosis, imaging is not required. And if imaging was needed, it would be an MRI not an X-ray. It’s actually alarming your primary care physician was unable to diagnose and manage this on their own. This sounds like it was an unnecessary referral. And ‘hand…Â
There’s not much to do for a broken rib other than let it heal on its own and pain management. So likely this was to save you the hassle and discomfort of having to come in for what can very easily be a clinical diagnosis.
Came here to say this. Many things are clinical diagnoses. In medical school were taught clinical skills and judgement to get to a differential. You can’t just throw around random imaging and tests - that means you have no idea what you’re doing.
