    According to the video, one out of every three meals we eat is made possible by honey bees. If their population keeps decreasing, our food will start disappearing.

    In the last few years, beekeepers all over the world have seen an annual loss of 30-90% of their colonies.

    Specifically, in the United States, hives have decreased from 5 million hives in 1988 to 2.5 million today.

    Research from Bee Informed backs up this claim. This chart compares the losses to acceptable levels in the United States:
