What’s your flick about?
To make a movie, the first thing you need to do is come up with a topic. To start, think of a genre. I’m a sucker for some comedies, so that’s mine. Now I need a topic… 4 overweight guys who get in a competition to see who can lose the most weight after the wives yell at them for being overweight and lazy.
Actors! Who’s in your movie?
When making a movie, you want to use stars that are famous and known for your genre of choice. For my comedy movie, I’m going need actors that are not only overweight, but are known for their comedic roles. Such as…
This movie isn’t only about these four. The wives would be an essential part of the movie, so I feel like they should be played by women (also known for their roles in comedies) that match these guys, but in different ways.
Plot!
This is the biggest part of your new film. You need a great plot or else nobody will want to see it! You’ve already got your main idea, but now you need to make that into a complex idea. As you may have noticed, there are 4 guys but only 3 woman. That’s because one of the guys is divorced and lives in the same house with another. The point of the movie is that whoever loses the least weight gets to the ultimate punishment: Dynamite in their pants or something of the sort. See, now I have a more advanced feel for what I want in the movie.
