GISHWHES - The 'Greatest International Scavenger Hunt The World Has Ever Seen'

A little while ago, Supernatural’s Misha Collins began linking to a website. The movement was called GISHWHES. There was no explanation about what it meant or what it did. Videos of a confusing and occasionally disturbing nature were put up on the website; including one on a loop which was just a camera zooming in and out on an eye while eerie whispers could be heard in the background. It was weird; but this was Misha we were dealing with, so we waited. This week GISHWHES has been revealed. It stands for the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen. It is an attempt to get into the Guinness Book of Records for the largest worldwide scavenger hunt. It promises to be bigger than the great rhino hunt of 2010/2011.

Publisher To Release Graphic Novel Depicting Bin Laden's Death

Bin Laden may be dead but Bluewater Productions won't let his memory wither away and die. The Vancouver based comic book publisher announced they will be releasing a graphic novel based on the capture of the former world's most-wanted terrorist...and that's just what the public needs, right? If you aren't familiar with Bluewater, here's a few awesomely fantastic comic books they've published that you must check out, Puppy Power: Bo Obama, Fame: Justin Beiber, The Mis-Adventures of Adam West and the classic William Shatner Presents: Man O' War. The new Bin Laden graphic novel will be entitled “Killing Geronimo: The Hunt for Osama Bin Laden." Bluewater also announced they will be working with the publishers Simon & Schuster on the project. "It’s a milestone collaboration for the independent publisher", said Darren G. Davis, co-author and Bluewater president. "It’s the first time they’ve worked with a publisher with the stature of Simon & Schuster, and the first time Bluewater has based a book on a historical event."

Justin Bieber Owns A Batmobile

The car comes in matte black with with Bat-logos replacing the Cadillac logos on the front and back, with the word 'Batmobile' emblazoned on the trunk. I think that last touch was a request by Biebs, just in case he couldn't find his car in the Toys R Us car-park. Or something.

The New York Comic Con 2011 - A Satisfyingly Nerdy Experience

Simply put, my first experience at the New York Comic Convention was an overwhelming one. I’ve been to several conventions in Canada, but never one in the US, so I was pleasantly surprised at just how well organized the entire event was. At times one could say the Javits Center was far too small for such an enormous amount of people, yet it was that close corridor, claustrophobic experience that seemed to bring everyone together. Attendance figures for the sixth installment of NYCC have been estimated to be around a hundred thousand people.

Nerds Everywhere: The Top Nerds of Today’s TV

Although we can all be incredibly nerdy about any TV show, not all shows are considered nerdy. Yet some of our favourite TV nerds are in these shows. For every Chuck Bartowski surrounded by geeks and sympathisers, there’s a Greg Sanders circa Season 1 whose co-workers often looked at him like he’s lost his mind. This is my compilation of my favourite six nerds flying the geek pride flag in worlds full of ‘normal’ people.

Sony Suspends 93,000 Accounts After Being Hacked Again

In a message on its PlayStation blog, Sony’s chief security executive warned that hackers had broken into 93,000 customer accounts that contain information like names and credit-card information. Sony believes hackers did this by trying to log in to its network using information stolen from a third party: "We want to let you know that we have detected attempts ... to test a massive set of sign-in IDs and passwords against our network database. These attempts appear to include a large amount of data obtained from one or more compromised lists from other companies, sites or other sources."
