um… yeah. when a man and a woman are gonna have a baby, the man always says “we're expecting”, not “she's expecting”. and when a male celebrity that has impregnated a non-notable female, the headlines usually read something like “john travolta expecting a baby” (and that's a particularly good example because people recognize his wife's name, but he's still billed as the one expecting). if david burtka was a pregnant woman, no one would even think twice about the headline “neil patrick harris expecting twins.” i mean, i know a phobia is an irrational fear, so i shouldn't be treating homophobia like it's a rational thing, but it's just kind of interesting how sometimes people are entirely unaware of what they're saying.
