1. You know how to run an awesome meeting

Do you have an Agenda or Powerpoint ready for every meeting? Does the meeting room have a large whiteboard and colorful markers for making lists or drawing graphs and other important looking things? Most importantly, where are you ordering food from?

2. You are basically an expert in tradeshows and conferences

You can plan all the logistics for any event. From hotels and restaurants to booths and chairs. Most of all, people can always count on you to have an endless supply of pens, key chains and USB sticks with your company logo on it.

3. You love teamwork and collaboration

Let's call a meeting with all the departments at the company! Let's share our ideas and split up the work. Also, let's schedule a follow up meeting to prepare for the final presentation. Also, who's bringing the snacks and when is Happy Hour?

4. You know how to say the same thing in many different ways

Do you need to make a boring product appear exciting or make it sound like customers only have 1 minute left to buy the last item in the store? Marketing can achieve that goal and help you describe it in 5 words or less and spin the same thing a new way.

5. You’ve sent an email that probably shouldn’t have gone out...to A LOT of people

Every so often, there is a mass email sent with the wrong subject line, about the wrong thing, targeting the wrong demographic groups, with broken links, with expired coupon dates, with weird typos or symbols and even invalid prices and discounts. It doesn't happen too often but it does happen regardless of how many people have reviewed it.

6. You feel no one truly understands “Marketing”

Your family and friends have no clue what it is that you do. They just say it's advertising and they think you are on social media all day. Don't they know you also make really important strategic marketing decisions all day?

7. Your team has a really long creative approval process

Yes, all your team members and creative agency must review and approve any marketing pieces before you present it to the CMO for final approval. Oh, there was just a "minor" edit? We need to update the Creative Brief Version 20 and re-route it for approval quickly. Hope that doesn't cause any delays because it was due a week ago.

Your designer thinks that you"ugly" things up with your "SALE!" and "SAVE NOW!" messages and your demands for larger buttons, bolder text and slash prices! But as marketers, you have the challenge of balancing creating beautiful designs and bringing in revenue!

9. You know how to party!

Birthdays, New Baby or President's Day? You'll drink to that! You'll pick a theme, suggest a budget and provide a reason to eat cupcakes! Is it a surprise party? Make sure everyone contributes $10 for the gift, sign that card and pass it around.

10. You have either started or contributed to a long email chain with lots of images

We may use words to describe our products and services but when it comes to our internal communications with our team, we skip the formality and express our thoughts using screenshots, emoticons and .gif images (cats and dogs mostly). Oh, there's no way to unsubscribe to the trail either.

11. You have brainstorming meetings just to think about new ideas

You get mad when other departments don't let you run with your creative ideas. You can't create a miracle on a dime! It's true, sometimes you have ridiculous expectations and deadlines. But why can't the web team re-design the company website in 2 days?
