Fantasy Cast For Broadway’s "Aladdin"

Disney’s Middle Eastern/South Asian fairy tale is finally going to make its run on the great white way. However, Aladdin on Broadway failed to cast anyone of Middle Eastern/South Asian descent in their “Multicultural Cast.” Here are some recommendations.

1. Jafar - Amrish Puri

Amrish Puri, Bollywood’s ultimate villain as the power-hungry Grand Vizier of Agrabah…you know if he was alive. RIP.

2. The Sultan - Rishi Kapoor

The Sultan, frazzled and always jolly, exemplified by the amazing Rishi Kapoor.

3. Genie - Anupam Kher

As the therapist from Silver Linings Playbook, who wouldn’t want their wishes granted by this five time winner for the Best Performance in a Comedic Role.

4. Aladdin - Siddarth Malothra

Siddarth Malothra has been receiving some heat for his recent tantrums and anger management issues, but what else do you expect from the Prince of Thieves.

5. Jasmine - Nina Davuluri

For the only female lead, why not Miss America.

6. Raja - Richard Parker from Life of Pi

And as a bonus I recommend the Bengal tiger as Raja, who’s had more experience with the culture then the current cast.

And in case you missed it, South Asians have already been taking over Hollywood. Broadway, get on your game.
