Ever wondered what insurers are not telling you about life insurance? FriendlyLife will tell you.

    1. It was popular to take out life insurance to cover criminals waiting to be hanged until it was outlawed in 1774.

    2. Contrary to what Americans tell you in "CSI" Life insurance does cover suicide. (still not a good idea though).

    3. It has one of the highest pay out rates of any insurance. 98-99% of all claims are paid. although most people never claim as they die after the policy has expired.

    4. Children can't be insured because they don't earn money and life insurance only covers someone for "money's worth".

    5. It doesn't cover you if you are involved in serious criminal activity.

    6. It is often cheaper to get insurance from a broker then go direct to the company.

    7. It covers terrorist attacks but not the terrorist (because he was committing a serious crime, not because he committed suicide).

    8. If you take out a policy and you don't smoke you can take up smoking without it effecting your policy once the policy has started.

    9. Unless you die within the life of the policy you don't get any money back at the end of the term.

    10. Life insurance can be a better investment than savings alone for example £25 per month for 20 years =£7500 VS a policy for £25 a month for 20 years can pay out £200,000
