Actually little kids are well known to have HUGE natural advantages in rock climbing. They are so light that their contact strength (finger/toe strength)-to-weight ratio is unusually high. Low body weight is a significant factor in good climbing performance. Small fingers can find purchase in small cracks and on other small holds more easily. The also heal extremely quickly and can train at a higher pace than adults. But it’s mostly strength-to-weight. Also, short reach is not as much of a setback as you might imagine. Not to say she doesn’t crush it, cause she’s a world class athlete and she does for sure.
