My awesome parents actually took my brother and me to see Aerosmith for our first concert experience. It was the late 90s - Pink was their big song at the time - and my brother and I were 13 and 16. It was one of those huge arena shows where all you can really see is the flashing lights, but man, the sound sure filled your heads. About 8 years later, I took our much younger sister to her first concert, Switchfoot at the state fair. She had a blast and it was a much mellower experience. I’ve been to festivals, arenas, and concert halls, but for me, nothing beats a small venue and a talented artist. I brought both of my siblings and our parents to see Butch Walker at a local club a few years ago and it was a truly awesome evening. If you get the chance, just go to his show. Anyway, I love that live music is something we’re still holding onto culturally.
