10. State support is disappearing

The State of Indiana, who adopted the standards in 2010, just dropped Common Core like a Hoosier drops threes (that's the best example we could think of).

9. It's making government officials sound like jerks

When responding to criticism over Common Core, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said the biggest pushback comes from "white suburban moms who — all of a sudden — their child isn’t as brilliant as they thought they were, and their school isn’t quite as good as they thought they were."
