    I Was Raised By Oprah.

7 Things Oprah taught me. Life lessons, wise words.

    1. Know your truth.

It is simple. Know who you are. Be as you are. Live as you are. There is only one person like you on this planet. Be authentic to who you are. You are not your past. You are here for a purpose. YOU MATTER.

    2. Surrender.

The moment you let go is the moment you realize there is no resistance to life. You create it. It's not acknowledging that everthing will always work out or in your favor. It is knowing to stand with open arms and taking everything that comes (good, bad or indifferent) as a lesson to make you: better, stronger, smarter.

    3. Competition.

When you are running a race, run it with all your might and power. People might appear to be close even next to you but that second you take to size them up, see where they are, or turn your head, it will take you away from the race you are running.

    4. Work Hard, Do Good, People Will Notice.

Whether you are a person that makes the best fries in your town, or the CEO of a major corporation, work hard, do well, and opportunities will present themselves. It is all in your intent. If you know you are doing things through compassion, you will succeed.

    5. EVERY. SINGLE. THING. IS. HAPPENING. EXACTLY. AS. IT. SHOULD.

    Period.

    6. When people tell you their truth, believe them.

When people make off-handed comments like, "I am such a good liar," or "I am so mean," believe them. And when you know better, you do better.

    7. "I never thought of it that way."

You never stop learning, never stop growing. Life is a book full of lessons. We are constantly evolving and developing. If we are not, we are not living.
