So I kind of read a wee bit and it’s a story about the struggles of an impoverished rural mountain family as observed by a well-to-do New England couple. Sloppy Dingle is the nickname for a boy named Garrett. He had rickets when he was young and he’s called ‘Sloppy’ because of how he walks and talks due to his deformities. The plot seems to revolve around the adoption of Garrett “Sloppy” Dingle and what happens after. Probably not the greatest book ever, but at least it’s kinda interesting. Or were you looking for dick jokes?
