This is saddening for many reasons.

Hopefully the DA will have the sense to not file charges, and I suspect that will be the case. This is disturbing indeed but barely criminal. Additionally it should be mentioned that to many cultures, American embalming practices of hyper simulating life for viewings that occur a week or more later could be seen as bizarre on their own. This woman essentially just took this Western cultural process and elongated it.

I'll agree that this is highly disturbing and just… WTF, but does the district attorney really need to get involved? She was their next of kin, and even though her idea of keeping them in her house is bats#!+ insane, I don't think she technically committed a crime.
