For a Swede looking at how the states mistreat the odinary guy and give the rich ones and big corporations so many favours with tax declines, supporting the banks when they put them selves in a mess, not regulating bonus schemes on Wall Street, but failing to provide a functional health care for everyone my advice is: once and for all, give up the american dream and start caring for your next. Start taxing the rich population and corps and reduce their influence on the govenment - bringing back power to the people!

half of these police officers were being honored last month for being first responders on 9/11… funny how respect gets thrown right out the door because of a select few and small percentage who abuse the power.

when did it become okay for the police to protect the rich & beat the poor? and what i see here is police taking it a bit too far. when did protesting become a crime if its peaceful and not hurting anyone? they have jobs; lucky them… the rest of us don't and are losing everything.

FREEDOM ISN'T FREE… a lot of people have gotten roughed up by cops for us to enjoy the rights we have today. Guess what, huge swaths of America would like to see protestors locked away in dungeons a la Saddam.  That means we need an even larger and more concerned coalition of Americans who aggressively publicize the plight of protestors and defend their right to exercising one of the greatest historical catalysts of social progress that we have - non-violent civil disobedience.

You should have seen the actual video. Police lieutenants and above, the cops in white shirts, are reaching ACROSS the barrier to pull protestors into the crowd of cops where they are then beaten and bloodied. Cops beating and arresting people for videotaping them??? Cops were afraid to be videotaped because they know what they were doing was WRONG

These aren't “Protesters” they're profesional trouble makers! These are the same dirtbags who show up at political conventions, and G-12 summits. Their only purpose is to bang on their stupid bongos, disrupt, and get attention. Protesting Wall Street, and the lack of jobs??? Really? Most of these dirtbags choose not work, and are probably still living with their rich parents! (Who probably work on Wall Street!)

No one in America knows what a police state really is. The pepper spraying the blockaded women was clearly wrong and the cops involved should be punished severely. Arresting people filming or taking pictures is wrong as well. But the majority of people being arrested are the ones crossing the line of what should've been a peaceful protest. Like every group cops or protesters there will always be the “bad apples”. This isn't a police state. Look at Syria. 40 DEAD for protesting in one instance. SOLDIERS on the street doing the shooting and beating. The majority of those cops are trying to keep themselves, other officers, protesters and bystanders safe, not cause trouble. Many of these photos are taken out of context I'm sure.
