If prop 19 is passed wouldn’t they treat marijuana exactly like cigarettes and alcohol? Businesses would have to get a marijuana sales license? I would think that it wouldn’t wipe out all illegal sales(in this case it would be similar to bootlegging alcohol and cigarettes?). I would think that businesses would add a tax to any marijuana sales because of their license? People would still buy from street dealers because they wouldn’t want to go to the corner store and pay almost $30 for a 20 when they could call up the local dealer and get it for $20. Not saying this would be a major problem since it would free up prisons and you really don’t hear about the police raiding houses of suspected alcohol bootleggers that often. Just kind of throwing the theory out there.

Passing Prop 19 may actually endanger medical marijuana, not protect it, since the Federal government has already said that they won’t prosecute medicinal use of marijuana. But they would prosecute recreational use of marijuana, if prop 19 passes. Determining whether or not someone is using it medicinally is not going to be the first thought of a DEA agent.

The Biggest Consequence of Prop 19 Passing - Tourist will Flock to California for their Vacation. California becomes the Amsterdam of the U.S. I can see the “come visit California for your vacation commercial” with Cheech and Cong being the California Vacation Spokesmen. Also the Rastafarian followers flock to California where their religious belief are respected.

When you have to deal with wildfires, mudslides, earthquakes, shark attacks, water shortages, Venice Beach zombies, sure, why not? They deserve it.
