I wonder how these people would feel if someone from another country bought up a bunch of newspapers and TV stations and began a campaign to skew American political thought and influence that very process? Oh, wait, that’s already happened. Rupert Murdoch is from Australia and lives in London yet Fox News is the Kool Aid these people drink daily. Don’t they realize what is being forced down their throats? Fox News just goes to show what people will do for money. Most of the reporters on there used to be highly respected journalists (except Glenn Beck), now they’re just Rupert’s puppets. Just goes to show you don’t need an education to be a dumbass…

Interesting. 50 pictures of the crowd, and after looking at all 50 pictures closely, I saw only 3 people in all 50 pictures who weren’t white, and one of them looked to be a cop. This proves to me that the “Tea party” is nothing more than the hard core “core” of the republican base and nuthin’ much more.

These are the 45 dumbest? I am told this is a comedy site - at quick glance I seem to recall that being true. This however is just plain frightening. But it’s nothing we’ve never seen before. It’s easy to look down at our nose at these folks and poke fun at them, but we need to be able to see past that into the fear that is so evident here. This is not unique - we saw this before in vast waves of immigration in the last half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th. Then there was the McCarthy Era. What a perfect example there. These were times of trouble that left people feeling powerless and vulnerable. Someone needed to be blamed and in each episode, the easiest people to target were the most likely.

A handful of these are pretty asinine, but for the most part I found the majority of these signs to be fairly clever. At the very least, several have a certain crassness to them, and the photographer/editor has done a good job of capturing ridiculously dressed people in ostensibly dumb poses, but this is nothing I couldn’t photograph at my local Kroger. The right wing in America are slowly having a massive nervous breakdown with the help of Murdoch, The Koch brothers. Palin and Newt. Why they are doing this is quite simple, destroy the middle class, get a society of religious fanatics all following orders from the ruling elite.

People need to shut up about borrowing from China. Our founding fathers based our economy on a national debt, and the way we borrow from China keeps them from ever being able to attack us.

Since the Reformation liberals have led the way and conservatives have insisted on clinging to everything left behind. They fought us on the Enlightenment, the establishment of democratic principles in government, separation of church and state (still fighting that battle), the industrial revolution, the end of slavery, child labor laws, woman’s suffrage, worker safety, minimum wage, civil rights (Jim Crow, anyone?) environmental protection (how do you like that clean water you drink, hmm? The conservatives in the past would’ve denied it to you without a second’s thought). Conservatives have fought each of these advances tooth and nail, claiming that they’d be the end of civilization as we know it. Unrestrained capitalism assumes 3 things. That we have unlimited materials with which to make things, unlimited funds with which to buy things, and unlimited space into which we may discard the things we no longer want so we can buy the NEXT new thing. Unlimited growth is impossible. Unrestrained capitalism is unsustainable. At least as long as we’re stuck on THIS planet.
