Frankly, I don't know what to think of the Arizona debacle. I mean, how do you fix it? Pheonix has the SECOND-HIGHEST KIDNAPPING RATE IN THE WORLD (next to Mexico City), a direct byproduct of drug-trafficking. Ignoring the link to illegal immigration is naive. Profiling strikes me as wrong. But, hell, how do you fix it? Seems like something drastic has to happen to stem the astounding levels of crime tied to illegal immigration. Addendum: stopping an insane drug war that's gradually bankrupting our country and driving up crime would be an option, but I suppose profiling will have to do.

All I can say is PAY TAXES

If this was only about immigrants this discussion wouldn't be happening. It's that pesky word ILLEGAL as in, trespassing, that seems to be ignored here. LEGAL immigration is wonderful and very important and what makes this country great. My family came from Mexico legally. It can be done the right way. Too bad all of these people are protesting for the right of the robber to stay in the house he broke in to. Nothing inspiring here.

I have to say, there is something really beautiful about seeing recent immigrants with an American flag. A sort of “Hey, we love this place too, ok?”

unless you are of Native American decent your ancestors were not born in this country…essentially we are all products of immigration  and as long as there has been people living in the Americas those people have always gotten pissed when new people came

These started out rather meh.. but then they got better and better :)

1. Not all “illegals” are Mexicans. There are many other countries south of the US than just Mexico as well as there are immigrants coming from Europe, Asian and Africa as well.
2. Plenty of these illegal aliens do pay taxes! taxes are automatically taken out of paychecks, I'm sure you all know that; and these people will never see the benefits of that.
3. Accusing someone attending an immigration rally of hiring and paying people under the table just because they are white (as someone mentioned of the guy in the last picture) is the same as accusing someone of being in the country illegally just because they are not white. And this is what people are fighting about, being profiled.
4. Regardless how you feel about immigration, it should be something left to the Federal government to handle, not to the states, as the Federal government is the only one with the authority to grant or deny someone from coming in to this country.
5. And last point: we all have seen things that we have enjoyed in this website, we all have seen things that we hated on this website, if it really offends you what you see here simply don't come back! You don't have to hate on whoever posted the article.

I love #14. It's so great when you see generational and race barriers being torn down, especially when it comes to the generations who fought in World War II and Vietnam. Of anyone, you would expect them to be saying “I fought for this country. It's mine”, so it's a beautiful thing to see older people taking a stand against unfair laws.  [I'm not saying “THROW OPEN THE DOORS! Let's have a citizenship free-for-all!” I've obtained my own temporary US visa legally, and I believe in doing it that way. But there are other options than just “put them all back on a boat”, for heaven's sake. Humane options. Every situation is different.]

I never saw any swastikas at the Tea Parties. I saw a bunch at the May Day rallies.

I don't see what's wrong with this law. Arizona has a HUGE illegal immigration problem that's closely tied in with the drug trade. It's about time that someone did something about it. Anyone who is a citizen has nothing to worry about. People will say, “Well, what does an illegal immigrant look like?” Probably Mexican, not being racist, just the truth. Secondly, and potentially more important, can they speak English? At all? This country has become so complacent. Millions and millions of dollars are spent on people that are not contributing to the economy, i.e. not paying any taxes because they are not in the system — at least not officially.

I see a lot of people that wil never vote Republican ever again.
