Salvation Army Bell Ringers Will Start Accepting Credit Card Payments
Starting this year, bell ringers in selected cities will carry Android smartphones donated by Sprint that are equipped with a postage-stamp-size card reader. Basically, you’ll have no excuse to donate.
Credit cards will also help the Army reduce the theft that nonprofits experience when cash is collected in small amounts.

Yes, that’s not an android phone in the image, but the object they’re using to scan is called Square, and it’s awesome. You just scan a card and it pays you. There’s a small charge for use, but it’s really worth it, especially if you have a small business, or are an IT guy on the side like me.

sharkfighter a year agoI don’t like the Salvation Army because it is an evangelical christian organization. If you want to help, just help without bring religion into it. No, I will not be giving money to missionaries.
